Who are we?

Marietta Tamil School is a non-profit organization dedicated to the teaching of the Tamil language to children in K-12 classes utilizing the syllabus from the International Tamil Academy (ITA). MTS is affiliated with the Greater Atlanta Tamil Sangam (GATS) and aims to fulfill its goal of passing the Tamil language and culture to our next generation.

Specific Goals 

We are dedicated to passing the Tamil language and culture to our children.  To do that, the following are the directives:
  • Express thoughts and ideas in Tamil
  • Fluently read and comprehend Tamil writings
  • Fluently write in Tamil
  • Learn the history and influential leaders of Tamil
  • Familiarity in cultural events & celebrations of Tamil people

History

Marietta Tamil School was started in the year 2012-2013, after the successful start of several other tamil schools in the greater Atlanta area, to facilitate the need for Tamil School in the Marietta and surrounding areas.
​
The school was first started by Murlidaran Sundraresan at Dodgen Middle School.  During the first year, the school had nearly 30 students and currently we have 200 students.
