Parents Corner Safety, Rules, and Responsibilities
Tamil School is just like your child's regular school. That means you should keep up with your child's assignments and assist them when needed. Also, bring your child to the school on time, just like their regular school. Set the good example by bringing them before the assembly start time.
Homework Assignments and Practice Tests
Your child's interest in continuing to learn the Tamil language will be encouraged by keeping up with the class. If they fall too far behind, they will feel frustrated and may not be interested in continuing. You must keep up with their assignments and ensure that their assignments are complete in order to accomplish this.
Assignments and practice tests can be picked up at the ITA website. Click the button below to access the instructions.

Parent Responsibilities
Treat MTS sessions just as you do for your child's regular school. This means fitting them with the right equipment, environment, and support that encourages their Tamil learning. Here are some of the responsibilities as a parent.
- Ensure that your kid has a notebook, sharpened pencil, and eraser for your kids
- Make sure your kids eat well / drink water / go to the bathroom before coming to the class.
- Be sure to bring and pick-up your kids on time - set the example for your kids - tardiness is not a good habit.
- Maintain silence at all times during class hours both in classrooms as well as in hallways- noise distracts student attention.
- If your child's class is over, please clear the hallway and exit the school in order to maintain silence.
- Drop kids at the class and make sure teacher is present in the class. If not, please wait until teacher arrives.
- If you arrive at the school before any MTS official, please wait in front of the school until a MTS representative arrives and opens classrooms.
- Parents should be the ones to drop and pick-up their kids. If an alternate person must perform this for any reason, please be sure to submit the form that will allow this.
- Do not un-plug any power cable or any other cables inside the class for any reason - this hinders the HTMS school operations.
- Kids are not allowed to sit inside the class by themselves.
- If you have not signed up waiver form, please do so.
- If you have not signed up volunteer waiver form, please do so as well.
Safety
Safety is the first and foremost priority for all of us. Please follow these simple rules to ensure that we operate under a very safe environment.
- Make sure your kids do not run in a school hallway / classroom for the safety of your kid as well as other kids and adults. You are responsible for your kids.
- Parents are responsible to check-in and check-out of their kids from the classroom. Do not have other people doing this task - unless that person is in the nomination form.
Rules
MTS has an agreement with the HTMS to follow the below rules. Please remember that these are very important for us to follow to keep using this school property as we are simply borrowing the school/classroom for conducting our classes.
- Students will not touch/use any of the school's property such as board, markers or any other school property except a chair / table.
- Students will need to bring their own sharpened pencil, eraser etc.
- MTS will provide board, markers for each class.
- Students must not write on the desk or school board.
- Students / Teachers must not re-arrange or move the desk or chair.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom.
- Many of you know that our public school rules and the same applies to the MTS as well.
